Our Story
From student theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe to a 2026 London debut. The Green Star Theatre team have been collaborating for years...
What started off as a group of friends brought together by their university's student theatre scene, has evolved into an exciting new company set to make their London debut this August.Â

The company is led by co-Artistic Directors Maya Ostle and Ro Windust who have been making work together since 2021. With naturalistic and genuine storylines at its heart, the company has received acclaim for the quality of their theatre-making. Green Star's members are based across the UK and, with everything made inhouse, the talent is truly homegrown.Â

In 2024, Green Star won a place to take a new piece of writing to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on behalf of the University of Birmingham's 3Bugs Fringe society. Their debut play, A Rustle written by Maya Ostle, received a great critical response, later transferring to rural Oxfordshire, followed by a short run at Malvern Theatres in 2025. Since then, the group has gone back to the drawing board, hailing in this new era for Green Star. Their latest production, Ghost Light, is debuting at The Drayton Arms Theatre for a short run in August.

Blending a variety of skills and passions, the group brings a collaborative and energetic dynamic to their work, creating intimate, character-driven, original theatre. It is definitely an exciting time for the founders of Green Star Theatre!
